Hummelstown Adds Police Cruiser to Fleet

HUMMELSTOWN – A new police cruiser in the Hummelstown Borough Police Department fleet recently had its first passengers – Sen. Patty Kim (D-Dauphin) and Rep. Tom Mehaffie (R-Dauphin).

The borough used an $80,250 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to purchase a 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and outfit it with equipment for the police force.

“It helps our budget and helps us to not raise local taxes when we get a grant like this,” Mayor Dave Roeting said, saying new resources serve as a morale booster for the department’s eight full-time officers and one part-time officer.
